  2. Choose your donor

    Up to 48 hours

    Found the one? We contact her on your behalf. Donors have up to 48 hours to respond. Most reply much sooner.

  3. Secure your donor

    Once she confirms

    When your donor confirms she is happy to go ahead, she is secured as soon as you pay the Gift ov Life match and management fee.

  4. Medical and psychological screening

    About 2 to 3 weeks

    Your donor completes her medical and psychological assessments.

    • Fertility specialist consultation
    • Ultrasound scan and blood tests
    • Psychological evaluation

    No clinic yet? We can recommend leading fertility clinics or work with the provider you already trust.

  5. Cycle coordination

    About 6 weeks

    Your clinic lines up your cycle with your donor’s so the timing for embryo transfer is just right.

  6. Medication and egg retrieval

    About 2 weeks

    Your donor starts hormone treatment to help her eggs develop. At the same time you start medication to prepare your womb lining.

    Your doctor tracks progress closely and picks the best day for egg retrieval.

  7. Fertilisation and embryo transfer

    3 to 5 days
    • The eggs are fertilised with your partner’s or donor sperm
    • You receive updates as your embryos develop
    • Transfer takes place 3 to 5 days after retrieval

    Good to know: any extra embryos can be frozen for the future.

  8. The two-week wait

    About 2 weeks

    About 12 to 14 days after transfer a blood test confirms whether you are pregnant.

    This is often the most emotional part of the journey. We are right here with you through it.
